Internet Dating: What Not to Do

Internet dating is the new buzzword of the present generation’s dating scene. This is considerably different than the tradition concept and has a few dos and don’ts. Below, I have discussed 3 things that you should not do when Internet dating.
Don’t fall into a trap
There are some websites which appear free, but ask for your bank account details for the so-called ‘verification purposes’. My advice is run the other way as soon as you see this. You never know when they will charge you for a service and you will find that they are only partially free. If you are willing to pay money, join a good, paid Internet dating site, which clearly mentions what amount of money you need to pay to become a member. If you would like to sign up with a free website, read the terms and conditions carefully to know if it is indeed free. However, there are many sites, which offer both free and paid services. In any case, the website needs to be absolutely clear about the payment structure.
Don’t lie about yourself
If you really like a girl and later find out that everything she said about herself is false, you will certainly not like it. Therefore, don’t lie about yourself either. (One night stands are a different matter. Feel free to be anyone you’d like) There are many people who put up false information about themselves just to attract a partner. You should be cautious about these members. While writing your own profile, you need to honest and never falsify any information. The same is true while chatting with somebody. Even if you are not quite interested in the person you are chatting with, what if she happens to be the best friend of another person to whom you are really attracted!
Don’t be the hare
With Internet dating, being the proverbial tortoise that won the race with the hare is the way to go. There are a number of people out there and unless you are extremely lucky, you will need time to find the dream partner you are looking for. Don’t jump at the first opportunity to go on a date. Chat online for a long time to learn more about the person. Then switch over to phone. Only after this, you can think of meeting face-to-face.
